What is the difference between rent due, processing and paid?

Rent due is the amount still available to collect. The Processing label means money has started moving through the payment provider but has not settled. Paid or received means the recorded payment has settled, or you recorded money already collected offline. Opening a checkout page alone does not establish a pending transfer.

Payments separates money still due from transfers awaiting settlement. If a tenant sends part of the rent, the rest can remain due while that transfer clears. A pending rent transfer may temporarily prevent another rent payment, even when a remainder is displayed.

Before asking a tenant to retry, refresh Payments and open Transaction History to inspect the current attempt. Do not record a bank transfer as cash or another offline payment just because it is still clearing; that would record money you have not received.

If a transfer fails or is returned, the balance can become payable again. Follow the displayed status and contact support if the record needs review. For shared leases, the tenant's payment view can show their assigned share while the household dashboard shows the lease as a whole.
